We cannot wait to welcome Leah to the Kalk Bay Theatre stage.  A true star, and the most delightful, warm, charming and drop dead gorgeous character, come and watch one of South Africa’s true celebrities in action, up close and personal.

Leani van Niekerk (known professionally as Leah van Niekerk, or by her stage name Leah) is a South African actress, singer, dancer, presenter and model who rose to fame with a starring role in the 2013 feature film As Jy Sing, opposite Bobby van Jaarsveld.

A BCom Law graduate form the University of Stellenbosch, she later attended the Waterfront Theatre School, where she studied Musical Theatre, Drama and Dance.

She has performed in numerous theatrical productions including The Great Moscow Circus at The Grand Arena, Station 70, That ’80s Show, Face the Music and ABBA – The Tribute.

Leah was a presenter for a number of online channels including Reelkandi.tv in the UK and various shows on the now-defunct Zoopy.com.

She has appeared in numerous music videos for artists including Jack Parow, Dewald Wasserfall and Francois Louw; and in commercials for clients including Veet, Freshpak Rooibos, LG, Axe Deodorant, Brand Power and Oral B.

In 2013, Leah was a contestant on the kykNET dating competition series Jy is My Liefling, in which singer Bobby van Jaarsveld held a search for a new actress to star with him in a stage production of Liefling, at the State Theatre in Pretoria.

Later that year she got her breakout role opposite Bobby van Jaarsveld in the musical film As Jy Sing.

In 2016 she landed the recurring role of Nina Rossouw in the kykNET musical drama series Sterlopers.

In 2018 she took over from Minki Joubert as host of the kykNET dating competition series Boer Soek ‘n Vrou, for the show’s 11th season.
